Delete Agent

Remove an AI agent from a live LiteLLM proxy.

Setup

LITELLM_BASE_URL — e.g. https://my-proxy.example.com
LITELLM_API_KEY — proxy admin key

Ask the user

  1. agent_id — if they don't have it, list first:
    curl -s "$BASE/v1/agents" -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY"

  2. Confirm — show the agent name and ask for confirmation.

Run

curl -s -X DELETE "$BASE/v1/agents/<agent_id>" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY"

Output

Confirm deletion. Note that any keys or integrations pointing to this agent will stop working.

Summary

This skill guides an agent to safely delete an AI agent from a live LiteLLM proxy by requesting confirmation before executing a DELETE API call. It requires setup of a base URL and API key, lists available agents if needed, and confirms the deletion with the user before committing the action.

Use Cases

  • Remove unused AI agents from a LiteLLM proxy
  • Clean up duplicate or test agents from a production proxy
  • Decommission agents when they are no longer needed
  • Manage agent lifecycle in a multi-tenant proxy environment

Quality Notes

  • Strength: Clear confirmation flow (list → confirm → delete) reduces accidental deletions
  • Strength: Explicit setup section documents required environment variables
  • Strength: Output notes side effects (dependent keys/integrations stop working)
  • Weakness: No error handling guidance — what should the agent do if DELETE fails?
  • Weakness: No mention of rate limiting or retry logic
  • Weakness: No documented constraints (e.g., cannot delete agents with active sessions)
